As an athlete, coach, entrepreneur, and 11-time fitness cover model, it is clear that Amber Dodzweit utilizes inner strength. Largely using her own experiences and life challenges, Amber spends her time focusing on providing women with the tools to get them to where they want to go. “I teach women how to take control of their own lives and be the person they want to be.” Out of all the accomplishments she continues to rack up, it is seeing the transformation of the women she coaches, both their physical and mental strength, that she finds most fulfilling.
To meet Amber is to meet someone committed to herself and those around her. It is that internal connection that has helped her overcome her own adversity. As a former collegiate steeplechase standout, she made a personal choice to leave behind her potential future on the track and a full athletic scholarship due to a “manipulating circumstance of a relationship.” It was all part of what would become Amber’s path. “When you go through a lot of stuff, there’s so much richness that unfolds. That’s what adds flavor to a person. Through adversity she continued to push herself. “I’m proud of the person I fought to finally arrive at, and that I know there’s still more.”
Amber has a strong self-understanding that is as exceptional as her ability to empathize. In her own words, “you can lead someone through the most amazing workout of their life, but at the end of the day, if they walk out of that workout and they can’t stand themselves, it’s not doing any good. The only real way to create lasting change is when you start at a spiritual level. Very basic. Let’s talk about how you view yourself. Let’s talk about the experiences you’ve been through. Out of your greatest struggle you will find where your biggest motivator is.”
