PET Plastic

Essentia bottles water only in PET #1 plastic, one of the safest certifications possible and the most recyclable plastic on the planet.

PET has been approved as safe for food and beverage contact and storage by the FDA, Health Canada, the European Food Safety Authority and virtually every other health-safety agency in the world. It has been used for food and beverage containers for nearly 30 years without any known adverse effects. Extensive studies of PET and PET packaging have repeatedly shown it to be safe. PET is the type of plastic labeled with the #1 code on the bottom. PET stands for polyethylene terephthalate, a plastic resin and a form of polyester.

Essentia bottles only in PET #1 because it is SAFE, thermo-stable, resealable, shatter-resistant, and recyclable and contains NO BPA. PET #1 is the most recyclable plastic packaging in the world, and can be recycled into carpet, car parts, fabrics, fiberfill (for products like pillows and jackets), and new PET bottles.
